Welcome and thank you for your interest in Cathedral High School.

Since the time of Saint John Baptist De La Salle, Christian Brothers have been challenging students to grow academically, spiritually and personally to become leaders in their communities. The same spiritual and pedagogical tradition which informed the first Christian Brothers' schools centuries ago is very much alive today on Stanton Street in El Paso, Texas, indeed as it is in all of the 1,081 educational institutions in 87 countries on six continents. For over 78 years, Cathedral High School has been educating and producing young men of conscience and compassion marked by a genuine commitment to the service of others.

Cathedral offers a distinguished and rigorous academic program to prepare students for college, with many opportunities for upper-level students to earn college credit while still enrolled at Cathedral. In fact, today, the average Cathedral graduate earns from 12 to 15 hours in college core-curriculum credits, with most graduating with 24 college credit hours. Complementing this commitment to intellectual discipline is the rich variety of cultural and athletic opportunities available in our extensive co-curricular program. Perhaps most significantly, every year our students, aware of the unique opportunities and privileges a Cathedral High School education provides by giving back to the neighborhoods through hours of community service.

If Cathedral High School sounds like the kind of place where you would like to learn and grow, explore this web site for all the information you need to get started. All candidates for admission must complete an application for admission and take the entrance exam. Please pay special attention to the deadlines for each. Each fall we offer an Open House, and from October through February, we invite any interested 8th grader to spend the day with us as a "Cathedral Irishman for a Day."

To make it possible for students from a variety of economic backgrounds to attend the school, Cathedral High School does offer limited financial aid. You may request an application form from the Admissions Office.
