Carlos Gallardo ’11

My name is Carlos Alejandro Gallardo and I am a Cathedral Alumni from the class of 2011. I am a proud alum of Cathedral and I am very grateful to have been part of the Cathedral Golf and Rugby teams.

I also dedicated my freshman and sophomore year to being a member and mentor for the National Hispanic Institute program at Cathedral High School and El Paso Chapter. My older two cousins attended CHS, and their legacy there pushed me to also attend and pursue the integral educational experience that only Cathedral could offer.

Building those key relationships with faculty, staff and my fellow Cathedral Brothers will always remain in my heart as the most cherished moments of my 4-years at CHS. Cathedral High School and the indirect lessons acquired at every step of my high school education and experience prepared me to attend another great institution in the East Coast of the U.S. I graduated from Villanova University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics.

After graduation, I acquired a job two blocks away from my Alma Mater’s campus. I am a Data Migration Specialist at a Salesforce Implementation Partner called roundCorner. The greatest skill that CHS imparted me with is that of never being afraid to take risks and take initiative.

At my job, I need to learn new information systems and interact with them and migrate all types of data to and from them and the only way I am able to do this is by learning and taking initiative even in the face of risk and failure. But I am always able to learn from my failures and successes by taking those risks and not being scared to take that step forward at every turn of my journey.

“What are you proudest of?”
I am proudest to have not only met dear Benjamin, but to have taken the time to talk to him, offered him a helping hand and received a helping hand from him. He will always remind me of what Brotherhood means and stands for at Cathedral. You are always in our heart my dear Benja. Rest in Peace.

“What lesson from Cathedral do you carry with you?”
To always be ready to offer a welcoming smile, or handshake, to anyone, whether friend, family or stranger. This lesson opens doors when you least expect it.

“Do you have a message (lesson/observation) for a current Cathedral student?”
Make high school your OWN. Do what you want to do and take the initiative to always be different from others. Your time is now, and you better make your high school years count. I promise you will not regret it.
