Marcos Lopez ’06

I graduated from Cathedral in 2006. I was active in extracurricular activities including: Track, Football, and the Early Admissions Dual Credit Program. My senior year I was state champion in track for the 800M run. I went to St. Joseph for elementary and middle school and there was no question I was not going to attend Cathedral High School.

There are so many moments from school that it is hard to narrow down what I cherish the most. I remember all the pep rallies, sporting events, track meets, and formals, but what I cherish most is simply hanging out with all my Cate brothers in between and after class and the bond that we share to this day.
After Cathedral, I attended Texas State University where I received my BBA in Business Finance in 2010. I then went to University of Texas El Paso for my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I was the class president and graduated with honors in 2012.

After graduation, I completed a post graduate orthopedic residency program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical center in Dallas, where I currently reside. I am a full time physical therapist at 3D Physical Therapy in Dallas, a private practice outpatient physical therapy clinic. As a healthcare provider, practicing in a manner that is ethical and altruistic is of utmost importance. Cathedral instilled in me a strong moral fiber, leadership skills, and a selfless attitude that is necessary for my patients and my profession.

“What are you proudest of?”
I am most proud that I am in a profession where I serve my community and those in need with musculoskeletal and/or neuromuscular orthopedic conditions. It is very fulfilling to help those out during stressful times and help them overcome their pain.

“What lesson from Cathedral do you carry with you?”
To live my life serving others, put other first before me, and to serve my community.

“Do you have a message (lesson/observation) for a current Cathedral student?”
Work hard to play hard. Cathedral is a lot of fun and was probably the best time of my life. However, I made sure that my studies were in order before having fun with my brothers. Enjoy the time you will spend with your Cate brothers because they are the moments you will never forget. Viva!
