I graduated from Cathedral High School in 2004. During my time at Cathedral, I was Vice President of the Student Government Association my Senior Year. I was also a member of the world famous “zoo”
I attended Public Schools for both Elementary and Middle School. My family (my Tio Roy Rivero, Class of 1976), pushed for me to attend Cathedral my freshman year, and then decide for myself if I wanted to stay at Cathedral, or go back to the Public School system.
I did not know anyone at Cathedral my freshman year. Needless to say, after 4 years at Cathedral, I had 113 “hermanos” that I graduated with in 2004. Cathedral provided lasting relationships and abundant life lessons that have helped shape my life. To me, attending high school was fun. I enjoyed every day at Cathedral.
After Cathedral, I attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. I obtained a BBA in Finance/Risk Management in May of 2008. At St. Mary’s I was involved in Student Government, Delta Sigma Pi (Business Fraternity), and the Mexican Student Association. I like to say, that Cathedral paved the way for my college success. I will admit at times Cathedral was a bit more difficult than St. Mary’s I currently work for Travelers Insurance in San Antonio TX, as an underwriting manager.
“What are you proudest of?”
I am most proud when I see other Cathedral graduates succeeding, and making a difference in their communities. We are everywhere!
“What lesson from Cathedral do you carry with you?”
RESPECT
“Do you have a message (lesson/observation) for a current Cathedral student?”
Cherish every second at Cathedral, it will fly by, and they are some of the best years of your life. Take advantage of the wonderful faculty and staff at Cathedral. VIVA LA CATE!
