1.    Using Web resources, your team should identify some of the policy concerns of state governments and compare them with those of local governments.  Do the two levels appear to have the same priorities?  What differences can your team find?  Can your team think of any ways the two levels might work together?  Your team is to prepare an illustration with explanations.
 
2.    Using Web resources, locate information about the spending priorities of the budget of the State of Texas.  Think of another state that your team thinks is very different from Texas.  Compare that state's budgetary priorities with that of the Texas.  How are they similar?  How are they different.  Your team is to prepare an illustration with explanations.
 
3.    Using Web resources, you and your team members are to identify a key Supreme Court case in the area of federalism.  Read the Court's opinion.  Briefly summarize the facts of the case, the constitutional issues involved, the decision of the Court, and the reasoning for that decision.  Does your team agree with the manner in which the Court decided the case?  Why or why not?
