I graduated from Cathedral in 2004. I participated in multiple clubs, but most of my time was spent on the golf team and with the National Hispanic Institute. My parents sent me to Cathedral because they wanted me to receive an excellent education and also have the added benefit of having faculty that cared that I become a responsible young man.

My favorite memories about Cathedral were the people and the camaraderie. I also have a lot of great memories of multiple trips with the golf team throughout the state. After Cathedral, I attended Baylor University where I obtained my BS in Biology. I then attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center- Texas College Of Osteopathic Medicine where I received my D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine).

I currently live in Charleston, South Carolina where I am completing my residency in diagnostic radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. I will be completing a fellowship in abdominal imaging at Emory University Hospital in 2017-2018. My experiences at Cathedral gave me a strong work ethic and taught me how to be compassionate to others, which are necessary qualities for a physician.

“What are you proudest of?”
I am most proud of being able to carry on the Cathedral legacy of producing successful, intelligent and caring young men.

“What lesson from Cathedral do you carry with you?”
What I take most from Cathedral is the concept of brotherhood. I still maintain contact with my friends and classmates, even though we are hundreds to thousands of miles from each other.

“Do you have a message (lesson/observation) for a current Cathedral student?”
My best advice to future students and graduates is to maintain humility. There is a strong likelihood that you will become a successful person after Cathedral, but maintaining humility is necessary to keep working hard, stay hungry, and to treat your fellow man with respect.
